Portier Hotels Introduces The Arc House: A New Design-Forward Boutique Lifestyle Collection

Portier Hotels today introduces The Arc House, a new collection of design-forward boutique lifestyle hotels for travellers who want to feel closer to the character of a destination. The brand makes its debut with The Arc House Canggu, now open in Bali, and will expand to Hong Kong later this year and Melbourne in early 2027.

The Arc House is created for travellers who seek a more considered way to stay in the heart of things. Set in city-centre and neighbourhood locations, each hotel brings together bold energy, sophisticated urban living, and local insight that makes discovery feel easy. Every address is shaped by its setting, while a sociable, human-first approach to hospitality connects the collection.

Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Hong Kong, Portier Hotels is a hospitality group for those who value connection, discovery and a stronger sense of place over convention. With a portfolio of distinctive hotel brands, the group brings design, operations and guest experience together from concept through to everyday delivery, guided by a simple belief: luxury lives in the execution.

Edward McKenna, Co-Founder of Portier Hotels, said: "Portier Hotels was founded with a simple ambition of creating hospitality brands with a clear point of view and the discipline to deliver on it every day. Asia-Pacific is a region of very different travel cultures, and increasingly guests expect hotels to reflect that richness. They look for design, service and food that bring them closer to a place, rather than offering the same experience in every destination. That's the differentiation that Portier Hotels offers through our brands."

Located at the Creative Pulse of Bali, The Arc House Canggu Welcomes Guests

The Arc House Canggu is the first expression of the brand's approach to locally connected, design-forward hospitality. Set close to Batu Bolong Beach, the boutique hotel is positioned within Canggu's evolving mix of contemporary dining, independent retail, wellness and after-hours energy. It gives guests a well-placed base from which to enter the neighbourhood, while offering a clear, personal place to return to as the day moves on.

Karen Choi, Co-Founder and Head of Architecture, Portier Hotels, said: "We want every The Arc House to feel like part of one collection, without ever feeling repeated. A shared design language pairs minimalist interiors with arches as an architectural signature, but each address is informed by the building, the neighbourhood and the creative life around it. In Canggu, that means a contemporary, minimalist setting with locally sourced artwork that makes the experience feel specific to this place."

The design brings a calm counterpoint to the rhythm outside. Clean, minimalist spaces are given depth through a refined material palette, tactile details and commissioned artwork. Rather than creating a standard hotel environment, it is designed to move with the way guests spend time in Canggu: easy to arrive at, open to the day ahead and perfectly comfortable to make staying in feel equally appealing.

The hotel's 19 private-pool suite villas provide a more personal setting within the property. Each offers guests their own pool and the space to reset between a beach afternoon, a long lunch, a class, a dinner reservation or an unplanned evening in. The restaurant and rooftop infinity pool bring a more shared, open-air rhythm to the experience, places to meet, linger and feel part of the life of the hotel without needing a formal schedule.

At MYKAZA, the Indo-Japanese dining concept within the hotel blends Japanese techniques and Balinese flavours in a restaurant made for guests and the neighbourhood alike. The rooftop pool offering panoramic sunset views, breakfast delivered to the villa and wellness programming complete an experience designed to feel easy and personal.

New Urban Addresses Debut Later This Year and Early Next Year

Later this year, The Arc House Hong Kong will open at 148 Wellington Street, Central, introducing the brand to one of Asia's most layered urban districts. The 24-room property will place guests close to Central's art, heritage, dining and city rhythm, with a design-led stay made for travellers who want to be in the middle of what is happening.

Thoughtfully planned rooms, an artful Lounge, Rooftop terrace and gym will provide an easy place to meet, pause or reset between days in the city. Its restaurant, One Forty Eight Wellington, will bring Cantonese flavours and drinks to a shared table for locals and travellers, with further details to be announced ahead of opening.

The Arc House will continue its expansion with a Melbourne opening planned for early 2027. The future hotel will bring the collection's design-forward, locally responsive approach to another dynamic city setting with a 43-room boutique hotel. Further details on its location, design and guest experience will be announced closer to opening.

Nikola Sasic, President, APAC, Portier Hotels, said: "The way guests use The Arc House is what brings the brand to life. Programming gives them a simple way into the food cultures, people and places that shape a neighbourhood, from a shared experience at the hotel to a recommendation worth following. Canggu is the beginning of a carefully considered rollout for The Arc House. Hong Kong and Melbourne will answer to very different city rhythms, which is exactly why they are right for the collection."
