A design marvel crowned by a sky-high transparent infinity pool and authentic Spanish tapas bar, INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit opened in 2023 as Thailand’s first hotel under the INNSiDE by Meliá brand. Rising 34 floors above Bangkok’s On Nut neighbourhood, located only 160 metres from the On Nut BTS Skytrain station, the lifestyle hotel blurs the boundaries between work and leisure through integrated co-working spaces and playful meeting rooms. The hotel’s design draws inspiration from some of Bangkok’s most iconic landmarks. A contemporary interpretation of Braham structure The Giant Swing on the rooftop terrace, dotted with outdoor lounges and sunbeds, is backdropped by Bangkok’s sweeping skyline. The hotel is listed here in the guide.
In Thailand’s mountainous north, Meliá Chiang Mai debuted in 2022 soaring over the Ping River and bustling Night Bazaar. With a design paying homage to Chiang Mai’s history and culture with contemporary flair, the urban hotel comprises a striking 22-floor tower fronted by an adjoining seven-floor podium building. Above the hotel’s signature restaurant MAI Restaurant and Bar and executive lounge on the 21st floor, Meliá Chiang Mai jewel in the crown is 360-degree rooftop bar MAI The Sky Bar, the highest in the city, on the 22nd floor. The bar offers spectacular views including of famed Doi Suthep Temple on the mountaintop to the west. The hotel has also won a raft of awards for its sustainability efforts including its 360° Cuisine concept. Meliá Chiang Mai’s guide listing is here.
Nautical-themed Meliá Koh Samui debuted in 2020 on Choeng Mon Beach on Koh Samui’s northeastern coast as MHI’s first hotel in Thailand. The resort is distinguished by a lagoon pool that loops through its tropical grounds like a river and a two-level infinity pool with sunken seating areas. In a nod to Koh Samui’s maritime heritage, two-storey Boat Suites are fashioned from teak merchant vessels that are more than 100 years old. Adjacent to an outdoor playground and mini water park, the kid’s club is also housed in a former teak wood vessel. Specialising in Spanish cuisine and fresh local seafood, Breeza Beach Restaurant and Bar’s outdoor terrace sits above the resort’s strand. The resort’s MICHELIN Guide listing is here.
The MICHELIN Guide’s recognition of the four properties makes for a significant milestone in AWC and MHI’s longstanding partnership to expand the Meliá brand in strategic destinations across Thailand, reinforcing MHI’s growing presence and diverse portfolio.
Combining AWC’s development of landmark hospitality assets with Meliá’s international hotel expertise and warm Spanish hospitality, the partnership shares a commitment to lifting hospitality and tourism experiences in the Kingdom while contributing to Thailand’s position as a leading global sustainable tourism destination.
“The inclusion of these four Thailand properties in the MICHELIN Guide Hotel Selection 2026 is an incredible achievement for MHI’s partnership with AWC,” said Ignacio Martin, Managing Director Asia Pacific at Meliá Hotels International. “From the rich heritage of Chiang Mai and island setting of Koh Samui to the creative pulse of Bangkok and cultural energy of Pattaya, the four hotels demonstrate the breadth and depth of compelling hospitality experiences we are building in Thailand and our shared commitment with AWC to contributing to the continued evolution of the country’s unsurpassed tourism offering.”
