Thermomix® Malaysia’s Ambassador Chef Sid Murshid Brings Malaysia's Culinary Stories to Life

Every Malaysian has a dish that instantly transports them home. Across every state, culture and generation, Malaysian flavours have become more than just meals – they are memories, traditions and stories passed down through families, reflecting the rich diversity that makes Malaysia unique. In a country where food is often considered our universal language, each recipe carries a piece of our identity, connecting us to the people, places and moments that have shaped who we are.

In conjunction with Bulan Kemerdekaan, Thermomix® Malaysia’s Ambassador Chef Sid Murshid and Thermomix® Malaysia invited guests to rediscover the flavours that define Malaysia through the launch of the Malaysian Flavours Collection, a thoughtfully-curated recipe collection that draws from Sid's childhood memories in Muar, Johor. Hosted as an immersive culinary and interactive experience at the Thermomix® Experience Store in Bangsar, the event welcomed members of the media and content creators to experience Sid’s and Thermomix®’s Malaysian Flavours recipe collection firsthand.

Bringing these recipes to life was the Thermomix® TM7, the latest evolution of Thermomix's all-in-one smart cooking system. Live cooking demonstrations highlighted how technology can simplify even the most intricate Malaysian recipes – from preparing rempah from scratch to steaming, blending and slow-cooking with precision – making cooking more accessible without compromising on flavour, technique or authenticity. Guests also discovered how the guided cooking experience on Cookidoo® empowers home cooks of every skill level to create dishes with confidence, consistency and ease.

“Malaysian cuisine is one of the country's greatest treasures, and we are honoured to celebrate it through this meaningful collaboration with Chef Sid. The Malaysian Flavours Collection reflects our shared passion for preserving culinary traditions while embracing innovation in the kitchen. With the Thermomix® TM7, we hope to empower more Malaysians to explore, recreate and share these recipes that define the country’s rich food heritage,” said Christine Wong, General Manager of Vorwerk Singapore and Malaysia.

“Food has always been how Malaysians connect with family, friends and with one another,” added Sid. “This collection isn't just about recreating familiar dishes. It is about celebrating the memories behind them, being creative and showing how our culinary traditions can continue evolving while staying true to their roots.”
