The Anam Mui Ne Appoints Elena Lopez de Silanes as Director of Rooms

A Spanish national with more than a decade of experience in luxury hospitality in Europe and Asia has been named The Anam Mui Ne’s director of rooms.

Elena Lopez de Silanes has joined the 127-room resort on Mui Ne Beach to oversee rooms divisions operations, including front office, guest experience, housekeeping, laundry, and in-house water factory.

She also acts as the resort’s executive assistant manager, partnering with resort manager Ye Chang Sheng (Peter) in leading daily operations, strategic initiatives, and cross-departmental collaboration to achieve overall business and guest satisfaction goals.

Lopez de Silanes has worked in Vietnam since 2022. Before joining The Anam Mui Ne, she was the director of guest experience and entertainment at Villa Le Corail, A Gran Meliá Hotel, in nearby Nha Trang, and was part of the resort’s pre-opening team. Previously, she was a front office manager and quality control manager at Meliá Bali.

She originally embarked on a medical degree to follow in the footsteps of her doctor parents but then switched gears and completed a degree in hotel business management with the CSHG Hotel Business School in her native Spain. Her luxury hospitality career began with a front desk and guest service internship at Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora in Tenerife, Spain, where she later became a front desk and hotel ambassador before moving to Bali.

“Elena has already hit the ground running with an inspiring leadership approach focused on empowering teams and fostering a culture of attention to detail, emotional connection and authenticity; hallmarks of true luxury hospitality,” said The Anam Group’s group general manager Laurent Myter.

“Crafted by age-old artisans from across Vietnam, The Anam Mui Ne has it all and I’m excited about further contributing to its remarkable sense of place through enriching the guest experience,” Lopez de Silanes added.

Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor Welcomes New Artist in Residence

Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor has welcomed a new artist in residence ahead of the launch of a new exhibition of artworks, as the iconic 93-year-old luxury hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia continues to spotlight talented Khmer creatives. Teang Borin, popularly known as ‘DinArt’, is an audacious, self-taught artist whose work captures and exalts the essence of Cambodia’s rich religious and societal heritage. His latest exhibition, inspired by the majesty of Khmer royalty and the distinguished colour palette of the Raffles Royal Doorman, features vivid, brilliant hues often set against a stark backdrop. “The central concept revives the historical tradition of Khmer royalty, specifically focussing on the Royal Guards’ pantaloons. Historically, the colour of a king’s attire would change to correspond with the day of the week—a vibrant, visual reminder of the calendar and its spiritual significance,” said curator Nat Di Maggio of the local Tribe Art Gallery. Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor wil...
