CIGA Design Year of the Horse Edition Brings Cultural Meaning to Life Through Motion

 In a remarkable fusion of haute horology and profound cultural symbolism, CIGA Design has unveiled its latest masterpiece: the Chinese Zodiac Year of the Horse timepiece. More than a celebratory edition, this watch is a philosophical statement on time itself, channeling the horse's symbolic values of ambition, progress, and relentless momentum into a breathtaking mechanical ballet.



Distributed exclusively in Malaysia by Red Army Watches, the timepiece moves beyond traditional zodiac motifs. Instead of static symbolism, it embodies the spirit of the horse through kinetic artistry. At its heart, two free-floating diamond-tipped pointers glide independently to indicate the hour and minute. This liberated display transforms the act of time-telling into a dynamic, poetic dance, where the momentary alignment of the pointers signifies convergence, harmony, and auspicious opportunity.


The Mechanical Soul: A Tourbillon in Motion

Powering this elegant display is a sophisticated central tourbillon, positioned as the visual and mechanical core of the watch. In constant, mesmerizing rotation, the tourbillon does more than enhance precision; it serves as a constant metaphor for unstoppable momentum. "The Year of the Horse represents momentum, ambition, and the courage to move forward," says Soemantri Kusumadi of Red Army Watches. "This timepiece expresses these ideas through motion rather than decoration. It is culturally grounded yet distinctly contemporary."


This philosophy of progress is subtly echoed at the six o'clock position, where a minimalist gold horse inlay is delicately carved into the dial. It stands not as mere ornamentation, but as a quiet intention—a reminder of perseverance, discipline, and the prosperity earned through forward motion.

Complementing the intricate dial is a strap crafted from genuine horse leather, chosen for its smooth, satin-like texture and natural durability. This material will develop a unique patina over time, adding a layer of personal character and underscoring the watch's identity as a high-end collectible.
