Unleash the Spirit of the Qianlima with G-SHOCK’s Year of the Horse Limited Edition

Blending mythical inspiration with modern horology, G-SHOCK has unveiled a special edition timepiece to celebrate the 2026 Lunar New Year. The new model, themed around the upcoming Year of the Horse, draws its spirit from the legendary Qianlima—a mythical horse in Chinese folklore said to travel a thousand li in a single day.

The watch, model GBM-2100CX-9A, transforms the brand's iconic 2100 series silhouette into a symbol of power, elegance, and auspicious fortune. The design is a direct homage to its equine inspiration: the dial features a bold, artistic horse motif, while the bezel, plated in lustrous gold ion, is engraved with flowing lines that mimic a horse's mane. Gold hour indices and striking red accents complete the festive and powerful aesthetic, symbolizing prosperity and vitality for the new year.

Beyond its face, the dedication to the theme continues with an original illustration of the Qianlima engraved on the case back and featured across the special edition packaging.

Advanced Tech in a Slim Profile

Retaining the sleek, popular profile of the 2100 series, this special edition does not compromise on functionality. It is equipped with G-SHOCK's Tough Solar technology, which charges in sunlight or indoor light, and Smartphone Link capabilities for automatic time adjustment and other connected features.

In a nod to sustainable manufacturing, key resin components of the case and band are made from biomass plastics, derived from renewable organic resources to reduce environmental impact.

Pricing and Availability

The G-SHOCK Year of the Horse 2026 model will be priced at RM1,388. It is scheduled for official release on the Casio Malaysia website from January 12, 2026, followed by availability at G-SHOCK stores and authorized dealer stores from the end of January.

For the latest visuals and precise launch updates, the public is advised to follow G-SHOCK's official social media channels on Facebook and Instagram.

Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor Welcomes New Artist in Residence

Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor has welcomed a new artist in residence ahead of the launch of a new exhibition of artworks, as the iconic 93-year-old luxury hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia continues to spotlight talented Khmer creatives. Teang Borin, popularly known as ‘DinArt’, is an audacious, self-taught artist whose work captures and exalts the essence of Cambodia’s rich religious and societal heritage. His latest exhibition, inspired by the majesty of Khmer royalty and the distinguished colour palette of the Raffles Royal Doorman, features vivid, brilliant hues often set against a stark backdrop. “The central concept revives the historical tradition of Khmer royalty, specifically focussing on the Royal Guards’ pantaloons. Historically, the colour of a king’s attire would change to correspond with the day of the week—a vibrant, visual reminder of the calendar and its spiritual significance,” said curator Nat Di Maggio of the local Tribe Art Gallery. Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor wil...
