Alma Named ‘Best Family Hotel in Vietnam’ by Little Steps Asia

Alma Resort on the Cam Ranh Peninsula, just south of Nha Trang, was named the “Best Family Hotel in Vietnam” by Little Steps Asia, an influential regional parenting publication based in Hong Kong, in its annual travel awards for 2025-26.

The editors praised Alma’s 12 swimming pools, 14 dining venues, 580 ocean-view suites and “Vietnam’s most exciting waterpark” as highlights, saying, “Alma Resort is the perfect destination for families looking to unwind and enjoy quality time together.”

Little Steps Asia described Alma as a “300,000 sqm coastal paradise,” adding that “every moment is crafted for connection, joy and unforgettable memories.”

Herbert Laubichler-Pichler, Alma’s Managing Director, said, “We are grateful to our hardworking team who continue to work tirelessly to make Alma Vietnam’s best family resort. We constantly strive to lead the way in trends and adapt to the evolving needs of modern family travelers.”

More than 700 hotels across Asia were nominated in the annual awards, with more than 12,000 people voting for their favorite properties across 17 countries. Little Steps Asia, founded in 2008, is a top lifestyle and travel resource for parents throughout the region.

The award follows Alma’s launch earlier this month of the new Alma Discovery Camp, a recreation and educational facility that connects children with nature, farm animals and sustainable agriculture. The camp offers hands-on learning through interactive farm visits and a dedicated museum. Children can explore the farm’s habitat, petting and feeding animals, including cows, goats, chickens, ducks and rabbits.

In addition to the farm, Alma is home to an awe-inspiring array of family-friendly facilities, ranging from the Alma Technology Experience Center, kids club and youth club, to a 75-seat cinema and a 6,000sqm water park replete with a lazy river, wave pool, slides and kids pool. Alma offers a host of activities for all ages such as cupcake-, fruit shake- and pizza-making workshops, kite-flying competitions, tree planting and virtual reality golf.

The resort also organizes a “Hotelier Pastry Tour” program to inspire interest and creativity in baking. The program takes children to visit the resort’s bakery, learn about the baking process and try the cakes that Alma’s talented chefs craft for diners. Other popular kids’ activities include VR games in the Youth Club and kids’ water scooters.

Earlier this year, Alma introduced new “Kids’ Themed Rooms,” including optional boys’ and girls’ playful room set-ups that bring a riot of colour to any of Alma’s oversized suites and pavilions. Kids are greeted in their themed room with a personalised card, welcome board, cookies, colourful pillows, towel art, themed kids bedding and a kiddie float for the pool.

The Little Steps Asia award follows a slew of other recent honors. Alma was named “Vietnam’s Best Family Resort” in the Australian magazine Holidays with Kids 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards. It was also recently called out as the No. 1 resort in Southeast Asia, the No. 2 resort in Asia and No. 9 resort worldwide in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards in 2024.

Teang Borin, popularly known as ‘DinArt’, is an audacious, self-taught artist whose work captures and exalts the essence of Cambodia’s rich religious and societal heritage. His latest exhibition, inspired by the majesty of Khmer royalty and the distinguished colour palette of the Raffles Royal Doorman, features vivid, brilliant hues often set against a stark backdrop. “The central concept revives the historical tradition of Khmer royalty, specifically focussing on the Royal Guards’ pantaloons. Historically, the colour of a king’s attire would change to correspond with the day of the week—a vibrant, visual reminder of the calendar and its spiritual significance,” said curator Nat Di Maggio of the local Tribe Art Gallery.
