Invite in Good Luck and Growth with Mindful Activities and a Lunar New Year Stay Package in Vietnam

Just as a snake in the wild regularly sheds its skin, this Lunar New Year is an invitation to embrace change with grace and confidence. To kick off the Year of the Snake, TIA Wellness Resort, an award-winning property in Da Nang, Vietnam is offering a lunar new year-themed stay package and hosting a range of activities from reflection workshops to dragon dances to ensure guests shed what’s no longer needed and put their best foot forward in the new lunar year.

Known in Vietnam as TET, the celebrations are designed to bring families together, express gratitude and welcome the year ahead through rituals, feasts and festive activities.

On Thursday January 28th the TIA team will host a "Reflection of the Year of the Dragon" creative workshop where guests can reflect on the past year, express gratitude and move forward. That night an "Evening Wishing Lantern Ceremony" is on the agenda. Through the ritual at the resort’s lush tropical wellness garden, guests will set intentions.

It's an early start on January 29th with a "Sunrise Beach Gratitude Meditation," set to the sound of the waves and the energy of nature. Later in the day a traditional dragon dance will be performed to the beat of rhythmic drums. The age-old tradition is believed to drive away evil spirits and bring good luck. Visitors are invited to visit a local pagoda, a custom Vietnamese families practice each year as they pray for good fortune in the year ahead.

On January 30th the activities continue with “TET Wish Calligraphy.” Guests can put their wishes on paper using traditional Vietnamese calligraphy. A “Vietnamese New Year Culture Sharing” session is slated for January 31st where the TIA team and fellow guests will gather to explore traditional TET sweets & customs.

Those who wish to further sample the delicious treats associated with this important celebration can sample a range of classic and modern treats at a limited-time Vietnamese Tet afternoon tea. The special tea set is available from January 22nd - February 4th from 11am – 4pm. The set is VND1,200,000++ for two.

TIA’s limited-time TET holiday package includes a one or two-night stay in a One Bedroom Pool Villa for two people, all-day breakfast and daily wellness minibar, two wellness treatments per person per night, one special TET dinner feast per stay and the TET-inspired afternoon tea. In addition, guests can take part in the lunar new year-themed activities of their choosing. Rates start at VND 11,500,000 for a one-night stay and VND 18,500,000 for 2-night stays. The offer is available from January 28th - February 1st, 2025 and can be booked until January 31st.

Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor Welcomes New Artist in Residence

Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor has welcomed a new artist in residence ahead of the launch of a new exhibition of artworks, as the iconic 93-year-old luxury hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia continues to spotlight talented Khmer creatives. Teang Borin, popularly known as ‘DinArt’, is an audacious, self-taught artist whose work captures and exalts the essence of Cambodia’s rich religious and societal heritage. His latest exhibition, inspired by the majesty of Khmer royalty and the distinguished colour palette of the Raffles Royal Doorman, features vivid, brilliant hues often set against a stark backdrop. “The central concept revives the historical tradition of Khmer royalty, specifically focussing on the Royal Guards’ pantaloons. Historically, the colour of a king’s attire would change to correspond with the day of the week—a vibrant, visual reminder of the calendar and its spiritual significance,” said curator Nat Di Maggio of the local Tribe Art Gallery. Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor wil...
