Horizon Grill Unveils “Textures on the Horizon” Afternoon Tea Inspired by Nature’s Finest Touch

High above the urban rhythm of Kuala Lumpur, nestled on the 58th floor of Banyan Tree, Horizon Grill introduces a new chapter in culinary storytelling — a narrative of nature, elegance, and seasonality. Textures on the Horizon, the restaurant’s exclusive afternoon tea offering, is more than a meal; it is a lyrical homage to the elements, thoughtfully curated to evoke wonder, calm, and delight.

Running from 1 May to 31 July 2025, this bespoke afternoon tea experience brings together refined technique and natural inspiration to deliver a meditative, multisensory journey. Designed as a poetic progression of flavour and finesse, each bite offers a moment of beauty, seasonality, and indulgence. The experience invites guests to slow down and immerse themselves in a horizon of textures, where each dish speaks of calm, creativity, and time well spent.

The experience begins with an elegant trio of savouries that strike a delicate balance between the familiar and the imaginative.

Golden Carbonara

A golden reinterpretation of an Italian classic, this silky smoked yolk cream is delicately piped into delicate pasta and topped with truffle pearls and a light parmesan foam. Rich, luxurious, and comforting, it captures warmth in every golden bite.

Truffle Porcini Royale

Earthy and opulent, this medallion of porcini and black truffle mousse is paired with chicken roulade and elevated with a whisper of truffle essence. The result is velvety, savoury, and indulgent — a dish that lingers long after it is gone.

Nordic Garden Tartlet

A fresh, coastal composition that brings the sea to your palate. Shrimp and ikura are layered with dill cream cheese and micro herbs atop a crisp sable shell. Each bite delivers a refreshing contrast of textures and a whisper of garden aromatics.

For the sweets, Textures on the Horizon continues its thoughtful crescendo with a collection of desserts that echo both delicacy and imagination where it brings you with 3 choices which are Jasmine Berries, Matcha Macaron & Noucatine as well as Apple Filo and Mango &  Yuzu.

Jasmine Berries

At once floral and fruity, this jasmine-infused mousse is elegantly balanced with raspberry compote and soft coconut sponge. Each bite is a sonnet of petal-soft texture and fragrant notes.

Matcha Macaron & Noucatine

A duet of East and West — the matcha macaron is filled with almond ganache, while the Noucatine offers crisp praline layered with dark chocolate and hazelnut. Bold, balanced, and beautifully executed.

Mango & Yuzu

Japanese citrus yuzu meets tropical mango in this mousse-based creation, set on a sugar cone for added crispness and whimsy. Light, zesty, and joyful.

Apple Filo

The final act is a comforting tribute to rustic indulgence. Layers of crisp filo pastry cradle apple jelly and airy Chantilly cream — a dish that captures the warmth of an orchard bathed in golden hour.

And whats make amidst the panoramic views of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline, Horizon Grill transforms into a serene sanctuary in the sky. The natural light, stylish interiors, and attentive service elevate the experience beyond the plate. Here, tea is not just served — it is savoured, celebrated, and remembered.

Each afternoon tea set is complemented by a curated selection of premium teas or coffee, chosen to pair beautifully with both savoury and sweet components.
